How TMJ Therapy can help you.
TMJ problems involve the temporomandibular joints, the two hinges that connect your jaw to your skull, and the muscles and bite that load them. They rarely announce themselves clearly: headaches on waking, a jaw that clicks or locks, ear discomfort with nothing wrong in the ear, or front teeth that have quietly worn flat.
Diagnosis comes first. We examine the joints and muscles, study how your teeth meet, and look for the wear patterns that reveal what your jaw does at night. Treatment then follows the finding, from a custom night guard and bite adjustment to muscle therapy and, where wear has changed the bite, restorative work to rebuild it.
Relief from daily symptoms is the immediate benefit. The longer-term one is protective: stabilizing the bite stops clenching and grinding from flattening enamel, fracturing teeth, and undoing the dentistry built on top of it.
